Fitness to drive: What keeps you and your drivers awake at night?
Date: Friday 20th May 2022
Venue: Bartlett Group Ltd, Broadway Hall, Horsforth, Leeds LS18 4RS
If you are an employer who has employees driving for work, you have a responsibility to ensure they are fit and healthy to perform this task. Unfortunately, a lot of employers knowingly or unknowingly allow their employees to drive for work purposes when they are unfit to drive!
This issue has been exacerbated massively during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the effects of the various lockdowns have taken their toll on employees. Unfortunately, those employees who drive for work pose a greater risk to themselves, their employer and all other road users.
Did you know:
- Almost two thirds of people in the UK have suffered sleep problems during the pandemic
- Drink drive convictions have increased 250% during the pandemic
- Drug drive convictions have increased 400% during the pandemic, with a good proportion being prescription drugs
- More drivers are suffering with medical conditions that need to be reported to the DVLA
