The situation
Flexjet is a luxury private jet company offering fractional ownership and leasing programmes across the US, UK, and Europe, operating 314 jets for over 2,100 clients with approximately 300 employees in the UK and Europe.
Flexjet faced significant challenges with their Employee Benefits. Previous brokers had failed to unify benefits across four UK entities, resulting in excessive costs, inconsistent coverage, poor employee appreciation, and communication difficulties. As they expanded into Europe, a dispersed workforce across multiple locations, made it difficult and time-consuming to establish benefits through multiple local brokers or insurers.
Our approach
UK Entities:
We consolidated multiple pension schemes with a single provider, increased employer pension contributions, and delivered substantial employer NI savings through salary sacrifice.
We extended Life Assurance and Income Protection to all entities and introduced flexible life cover allowing employees to tailor their protection.
Private Medical Insurance (PMI) was unified with comprehensive employer-funded cover including medical history disregarded underwriting.
We introduced standalone Dental Insurance after identifying that previous PMI dental coverage failed to meet employee needs.
The offering was enriched with Tech Scheme, Gym Membership, and Cycle to Work programmes.
An online benefits platform was implemented for both employees and HR to manage the entire reward programme, supported by Bartlett’s financial guidance programme including presentations and one-to-one sessions.
Europe:
We introduced International Group Life Assurance, Income Protection, and Private Medical Insurance policies covering European employees—crucially avoiding the complexity of multiple small local policies.
The international coverage enabled pilots and cabin crew to arrange treatment while travelling.
The result
Operational Efficiency: Administration was dramatically reduced through policy consolidation and single-broker management, freeing significant HR time.
Employee Engagement: The benefits platform delivered visibility and clarity, while consistent benefits across all employees in each jurisdiction improved satisfaction and eliminated unfairness concerns.
Seamless Growth: Our framework enabled the smooth acquisition and integration of a fifth UK entity in 2025.
Reduced HR Burden: Employee queries to the client decreased as information became self-serve via the platform and our dedicated employee inbox—Flexjet describes Bartlett as “an extension of their team.”
Strategic Partnership: Our trusted advisor relationship enabled confident decisions such as upgrading PMI underwriting. While significant in cost, Flexjet recognised the employee value—a decision only possible through the confidence our ongoing work has built.
